Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of infection control and medical documentation. Experience with electronic health records and a strong understanding of dental procedures are essential to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper safety measures are followed Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging procedures as needed for comprehensive patient assessment Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology and medical documentation skills Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when required Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding is a plus Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients is desirable Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical documentation requirements Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly using appropriate medical language Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory This role is vital to delivering high-quality dental care while supporting the overall efficiency of our practice.
