Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dental Assistant Instructor to join our educational team. Working Hours: The position is expected to be fewer than 20 hours per week; however, hours are not guaranteed and may vary based on organizational needs, course assignments, and student enrollment. The incumbent must accurately track all hours worked. Course assignments may include morning, afternoon, or evening hours and are determined on a semester basis. Salary : $25.00 Benefit eligibility: No The Dental Assistant Instructor is responsible for overseeing and delivering high-quality instruction to adults to become qualified Dental Assistant. Key duties include, conducting pre- and post-assessments, developing, and managing the class schedules, and creating lesson plans. This role ensures effective program delivery by collaborating with staff and supporting students in achieving their educational and career goals. KEY RESULTS AREAS · Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students. · Effectively facilitate instruction for classes of up to 10 students per session. · Ensure student acquire technical knowledge and skills to attain their certification. · Develop, implement, and administer class curriculum. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Conducts classes, workshops, and demonstrations to teach principles, techniques or methods in the dentistry field and workforce entry skills. 2. Determine educational needs of students. 3. Observes and evaluates students' work to determine progress and make suggestions for improvement. 4. Plans and activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate. 5. Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. 6. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicates those objectives to students. 7. Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. 8. Prepares and administers written, oral and performance tests, and issues grades in accordance with performance. 9. Uses computers, audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. 10. Prepares objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. 11. Adapts teaching methods and instructional math materials to meet students' varying needs, abilities, and interests. 12. Maintain equipment inventories and keep inventory records. 13. Monitor students when utilizing dental or x-ray equipment. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Education, Training or Certification: Bachelorâs degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: One to two years related experience and / or training. Certificates, licenses, registrations X-Ray Certification endorsed by DANB (within 60 days of hire) Other skills and abilities, including computers, tools, equipment, technical knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; bilingual skills in Spanish / English preferred.
