Part Time Dental Assistant - Family Dental Care - Brooklyn, MD

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative support, making it essential for the candidate to be both detail-oriented and personable. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and effective four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for patient treatments. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as necessary. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for managing patient records and billing processes. Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Assist with medical coding for insurance claims processing as needed. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with dental procedures in general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Proficiency in using 3D scanners and other modern dental technology is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical tasks and administrative duties. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
