About us Canyon Oaks Dentistry is a small privately owned dental office nestled in the charming town of Alta Loma (North Rancho Cucamonga), CA. We focus on building long term relationships with our patients based on trust and exceeding expectations. We are a high quality, family oriented general dentistry office looking to add a registered dental assistant to our team. We provide a wide variety of dental services to our patients and offer a "no two days are the same" experience for or back office assistants. As a non-corporate dental environment we are focused on quality care in a relaxed, efficient environment. At least three years experience is preferred but more importantly we are looking for an upbeat, energetic personality that can take direction but also be self motivated and stay on task. You would be responsible for assisting the dentist in day to day general dentistry procedures as well as direct interaction with patients, whether it be scheduling appointments, taking phone calls, or providing a sympathetic ear. Responsibilities Welcome customers in the dental office Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Skills Proven experience as dental assistant (no experience required but preferred) Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Xray certification Coronal Polish Certification Good computer skills (e-mail, Google Docs, etc.)) Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
