Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and oral health education, with expertise in providing preventive dental services. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience through compassionate care and professional expertise. Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments by evaluating oral health status and vital signs. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain sterilization standards using aseptic techniques and ensure the cleanliness of dental operatories. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as a Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and medical coding. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with pediatric dentistry, chairside assisting, and patient care is preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review processes.
