Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Queensbury, NY
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice . The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing exceptional patient care. We offer a FREE Dental Assisting qualified education & NYS License. Experience preferred but not required. Duties Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Maintain infection control protocols by following established guidelines for sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety standards. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in the patient management system. Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary while providing excellent customer service. Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records using software systems like Dentrix or Epic. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions to promote overall health. Collaborate with the team to ensure a positive patient experience throughout their visit. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred. Knowledge terminology related to dentistry is essential. Familiarity with dental coding is advantageous. Experience with infection control protocols and procedures is required. Proficiency in using dental software systems is preferred. Ability to take vital signs and perform basic medical imaging tasks as needed. Previous experience in dental or in a similar role is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask efficiently in a busy environment.
