Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Entry Level Dental Assistant to join our MULTI-LOCATION dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with dental terminology, medical imaging, and dental procedures such as endodontics and prosthodontics. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety using aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical documentation. Assist with infection control practices, sterilization processes, and maintaining a clean clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Gather vital signs and medical history information to assist the dentist in developing appropriate treatment plans. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow using tools like Epic or other electronic health record systems. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment relevant to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in dental assisting is preferred. Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for entry-level candidates. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is essential. Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to support clinical procedures effectively. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation accurately. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Willingness to learn about specialized fields such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry to expand clinical expertise.
