Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments using chairside assisting skills.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor and review medical records for completeness, ensuring proper documentation review and medical coding accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to promote a safe clinical environment.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or a similar software for efficient documentation and scheduling.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating specialized knowledge in pediatrics (i.e. Sealants).
- Follow all protocols related to medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient care to enhance overall treatment quality.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with current certification.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on patient care and dental hygiene procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or a similar software for documentation management.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical records confidentiality.
- Experience working within pediatric dentistry or pediatric patient care is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting when necessary, demonstrating versatility in clinical support roles.
