patients Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable privately owned dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment, with proficiency in EMR systems and dental software such as Dentrix. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in maintaining the health and comfort of our patients across general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques. Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy. Support pediatric dentistry procedures with specialized care for young patients. Manage patient flow efficiently while providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is required, with familiarity using EMR systems such as Dentrix preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review is essential. Experience with pediatric dentistry, infection control practices, and medical imaging is highly desirable. Proven ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting and patient care is necessary. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and aseptic techniques is required to ensure compliance and patient safety.
