Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Responsibilities Assist dentists during procedures using chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable. Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health best practices. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment. Assist with administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information and processing medical documentation or coding as needed. Support pediatric dentistry cases by understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology and procedures. Maintain inventory of supplies and sterilize instruments according to clinic protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; experience with dental assisting is essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical imaging are advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
