Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical imaging will be considered advantageous. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop X-rays while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental health maintenance Assist with the operation of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices Support administrative tasks related to medical coding, billing, and record keeping as needed Ensure the dental clinic environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a healthcare environment Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus Certification in X-ray technology for dental radiography is required or obtainable upon hire Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures including endodontics and prosthodontics is desirable This position offers an engaging work environment where clinical skills are valued and professional growth is supported.
