Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and EMR systems. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and dental office procedures is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will play a critical role in patient assessment, education, and treatment planning, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and dental assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines for medical imaging while adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient information accurately in EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support chairside assisting during various procedures with aseptic technique and proper documentation review. Monitor and manage infection control standards within the clinic environment. Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care strategies, including medical coding and records management. Maintain a clean, organized work environment following OSHA guidelines and infection control procedures. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures. Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Ability to assess vital signs accurately and recognize abnormal findings. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient populations, including pediatrics. Competence in documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical records. Understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting.
