Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Los Angeles, CA

Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization techniques to maintain an aseptic environment. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Provide vital signs monitoring and assist with medical documentation to support safe treatment procedures. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote ongoing dental health awareness. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records efficiently. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to dentistry, and specific fields like pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Certification in chairside assisting and knowledge of medical coding are highly desirable.
