Overview We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Assistant or RDA to join our vibrant dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with expertise in pediatric dentistry, chairside support, and patient care. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation as needed for pediatric patients, maintaining thorough medical records and understanding dental terminology. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, dental procedures, and post-treatment care in a clear and compassionate manner. Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling and patient communication when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Utilize 3D scanners and other dental imaging tools to assist in treatment planning for complex cases such as prosthodontics or orthodontics. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in a general or pediatric dental clinic setting, demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, and infection control practices. Familiarity with Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential for maintaining compliant records. A strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles, including age-specific care considerations, is preferred. Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is required to ensure adherence to licensing standards.
