Job Posting: Dental Billing Assistant Job Description Griffith Family Dental is excited to offer a career opportunity for a dedicated and professional Dental Billing Assistant. We are seeking a highly organized individual to join our team in a Full-Time capacity. This position is not eligible for remote work, requiring the successful candidate to work on-site at our well-equipped, family-oriented dental practice. The Dental Billing Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring services are accurately billed and compensated. Duties and Responsibilities Review completed services and ensure procedures are posted correctly Help batch dental claims for the billing team. Review insurance benefits, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and ensure reimbursement accuracy. Bill patients for outstanding balances and follow up on unpaid accounts. Communicate with patients in person and over the phone regarding billing questions, balances, and payment options. Perform daily book audits, including reviewing charges, payments, adjustments, and account accuracy. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records. Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to ensure proper documentation and billing accuracy. Support month-end and ongoing financial audits as needed. Requirements Authorization to work in the United States is required. 2-3 years of experience in dental billing and/or dental insurance coordinator. Prior experience as a Dental Billing or similar dental administrative role preferred. Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, CDT codes, and billing procedures. Experience with dental practice management software. High attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable communicating financial information to patients professionally and respectfully. Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills. Understanding of HIPAA and dental billing compliance requirements. Professional, confident, and patient-focused communication style. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage sensitive financial discussions with empathy. Team-oriented with a proactive and accountable mindset.
