Duties Assist dentists with chairside procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring accurate diagnostics. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to document patient information accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks including greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation and records. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical records management is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental radiography including X-ray techniques and operation of 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using dental terminology; experience supporting pediatric patients is a plus. Certification in X-ray safety and CPR is preferred; ongoing professional development in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
