Dental Hygienist- Part or Full time - Draper family dentistry - Draper, UT

We are adding a Dental Hygienist to our close-knit, friendly team. About us, we are an established private practice with a history of long term employees, we have patients who have been with our practice 15+ years, and want to make sure the next hygienist we bring on prioritizes patient care and strives for every cleaning to be the best cleaning! The days we need covered are: Tuesday 8:00 am- 6:00 pm Wednesday 7:30 am-5:00 pm We have flexibility in our schedule and can make scheduling accommodations for the right hygienist. Responsibilities Be welcoming, friendly, and attentive to our patients Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Disinfect operatory, and prepare for next patient properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays or dental impressions Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor supplies Requirements Friendly disposition Experience using Dentrix software In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. OSHA, HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Experience hand scaling, and performing root planing and debridement Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Comfortable working "paperless" Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Pay: $43.00 - $44.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Employee assistance program Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule: 8 hour shift Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay Signing bonus Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications Experience: Dental Hygienists: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: Registered Dental Hygienist (Required) Work Location: In person
