Registered Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)--Tuesdays

Capistrano Children’s & Adult Dentistry is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis (minimum of one day per week--Tuesdays).

Our practice is a well-established and trusted presence in the San Juan Capistrano community, providing comprehensive dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults. Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a caring professional who takes pride in their work, demonstrates attention to detail, and excels at building meaningful relationships with patients and families. This role is well-suited for a hygienist who values quality care, professionalism, and the ability to communicate in a compassionate and friendly way.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess patients’ medical and dental histories
• Perform dental prophylaxis for pediatric and adult patients
• Obtain digital radiographs
• Provide preventive services including oral hygiene instruction, caries risk assessment, and motivational interviewing
• Accurately obtain and document periodontal probing and charting
• Perform scaling and root planing procedures as indicated
• Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia in accordance with licensure and regulations
• Efficiently utilize and maintain clinical equipment (Cavitron, laser, digital sensors)
• Monitor and manage clinical supplies and operatory readiness
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising Dentist or Office Manager

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Dental Hygienist license
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient-focused, detail-oriented, and professional in demeanor
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented practice
• Experience with Dentrix is preferred but not required

Compensation

• $55–$70 per hour, commensurate with experience

Location

• Less than 10 minutes (<5 miles) from the Shops at Mission Viejo
• Less than 15 minutes (<10 miles) from the Irvine Spectrum
