Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position involves assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized environment in compliance with infection control protocols. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical history. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, ensuring all areas meet infection control standards. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as required for specific procedures. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental assisting role is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy is essential. Familiarity with medical documentation processes, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical records is a plus. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is required. Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix is highly desirable. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks effectively using X-ray equipment.
