Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient communications efficiently. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or pediatric requirements. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper sterilization procedures and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dental assisting. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform chairside assisting during various dental treatments including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics. Skilled in taking X-rays, medical imaging, and operating 3D scanners when necessary. Strong understanding of medical terminology, dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient interaction roles; capable of managing medical records and documentation accurately. Certification or training in vital signs measurement, endodontics procedures, or pediatrics is advantageous but not mandatory.
