Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Bristol, CT

Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, while managing calendar updates and patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and handle billing and collections using systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth. Maintain accurate medical and dental records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing clear information and scheduling support while practicing excellent phone etiquette. Assist with insurance verification, intake procedures, and documentation review to facilitate seamless patient visits. Manage office supplies, file patient records securely, and support overall office management to keep the clinic running smoothly. Experience Previous experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred, especially in roles involving front desk or administrative support. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management practices. Experience with insurance verification processes, billing procedures, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines is advantageous. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
