Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) – Restorative Saint Elmo Dental Co. | Chattanooga, TN Saint Elmo Dental Co. is seeking a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) with a focus on restorative dentistry to join our growing, patient-centered practice. We are looking for a team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality care and thrives in a modern, collaborative environment. Schedule Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (as needed per doctor request) Key Responsibilities EFDA / Restorative Duties: Place and finish restorative materials (composites, fillings) in accordance with state regulations Assist doctor with restorative procedures and ensure efficient workflow Adjust and polish restorations for proper anatomy and occlusion Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards Dental Assisting Duties: Chairside assisting during a variety of procedures Take and record diagnostic X-rays Perform accurate and detailed clinical note dictation for the doctor Sterilization and organization of instruments in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines Prepare and break down operatories Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment Provide excellent patient care and education Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations Qualifications EFDA certification (required) Current radiology/X-ray certification Knowledge of restorative procedures and materials Strong attention to detail and efficiency Excellent communication and teamwork skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Preferred (but not required): Experience in a fast-paced general or implant-focused practice Familiarity with digital dentistry and modern workflows Why Join Saint Elmo Dental Co.?
