Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Bilingual Orthodontic Assistant to join Scenic City Orthodontics. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care and support within our orthodontic practice. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with a diverse patient population. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting orthodontists during procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. Duties Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain an organized and sterile work environment by following aseptic techniques. Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices specific to orthodontics. Monitor vital signs when necessary to ensure patient safety during procedures. Operate 3D scanners for accurate imaging and treatment planning. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care. Skills Proficiency in pediatric dentistry principles and practices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology relevant to orthodontics. Experience with X-ray technology and interpretation. Ability to monitor vital signs effectively during treatments. Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Proficient in using 3D scanners for imaging purposes. Solid understanding of human anatomy as it pertains to dental care. Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
