Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, maintaining an efficient workflow. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, updating medical documentation accurately. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and preventive practices to promote ongoing oral health. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures. Familiarity with Dentrix. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Experience supporting chairside assisting in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant are a plus for coordinating patient flow. Certification in radiography or dental assisting preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
