Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status. Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while following infection control protocols. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system such as Dentrix. Ensure aseptic techniques are followed rigorously to uphold infection control standards and HIPAA compliance. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Experience with chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical coding is a plus. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, especially pediatrics. Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation review processes to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
