Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they walk in Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other health plans, ensuring accurate billing and coding with CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting payments and updating medical records in EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Maintain organized dental records and medical files, including filing documents and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) Assist with medical billing processes, insurance verification, intake procedures, and appointment scheduling to support clinic operations Qualifications Proven experience as a medical or dental receptionist with strong clerical skills in a healthcare setting Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and insurance procedures including Medicare is essential Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management Exceptional customer service abilities combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology is beneficial Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment Join us to be part of an energetic team committed to providing top-tier dental care!
