Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Dental Receptionist / Front Desk team member to join our vibrant pediatric dental practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and their families, ensuring a warm, welcoming environment while efficiently managing front desk operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help streamline patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record management. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with enthusiasm, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining professional phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems. Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review to ensure accurate medical records and billing processes. Manage patient intake forms, update electronic health records (EHR systems), and review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle medical administrative support tasks such as filing dental records, managing medical office documentation, and maintaining organized patient files. Assist with insurance verification procedures and coordinate with insurance providers to facilitate smooth claims processing. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while demonstrating excellent office management skills in a fast-paced environment. Experience Prior experience working in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred, especially within pediatric clinics or dental practices. Demonstrated proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation standards including HIPAA compliance. Experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and handling Medicare/Medicaid claims is desirable. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) along with typing proficiency (10 key typing). Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Proven ability to provide outstanding patient service with professionalism in a busy office environment. Previous clinic or dental office experience involving front desk responsibilities such as appointment scheduling, phone handling, filing, and office management is highly valued.
