Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Hemet, CA

We are looking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team at least 2 days a week! Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns to tailor treatment plans effectively.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health.
- Keep the patient's best interests in mind and work together with the doctor to help explain and reinforce recommended treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed dental records using the office's practice management software (we use Eaglesoft) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to safeguard patient and staff safety.
- Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications during appointments, escalating concerns appropriately.
Requirements
- Certification as a licensed dental hygienist in accordance with state requirements.
- Work experience as a dental hygienist in a dental office or clinic environment.
- Proficiency with practice management softwares such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health and treatment plans.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality.
