Private dental office seeking qualified Dental Hygienist for part-time position in Hemet, CA

We are looking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team at least 2 days a week! Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns to tailor treatment plans effectively.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health.
• Keep the patient's best interests in mind and work together with the doctor to help explain and reinforce recommended treatment. 
• Maintain accurate and detailed dental records using the office's practice management software (we use Eaglesoft) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to safeguard patient and staff safety.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications during appointments, escalating concerns appropriately.

Requirements

• Certification as a licensed dental hygienist in accordance with state requirements.
• Work experience as a dental hygienist in a dental office or clinic environment.
• Proficiency with practice management softwares such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health and treatment plans.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality.
