Position Overview: As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our highly skilled dental team in providing top-notch dental care to children. Your expertise and gentle approach will help ease the fears and anxieties often associated with dental visits, creating a positive and comfortable atmosphere for our young patients. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in explaining procedures and oral hygiene practices to both children and parents, promoting good oral health habits from an early age. Responsibilities: Assist our pediatric dentist during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Greet young patients warmly, helping them feel at ease while preparing them for their dental appointments. Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and accuracy. Educate children and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative dental care. Maintain accurate dental records and update patient charts with detailed treatment information. Provide exceptional chairside assistance to the dentist, anticipating their needs during procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their comfort throughout their time in the dental chair. Support our administrative team with scheduling appointments and coordinating patient care. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a dental assistant in a pediatric dental setting is required. A certification or diploma from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments related to pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and utilizing dental software for charting and record-keeping. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and parents empathetically. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain a smooth dental practice flow.
