Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA regulations Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring a positive experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state licensing requirements Proven experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with familiarity in pediatric patient care strategies Skilled in chairside assisting, dental assisting techniques, and operating dental equipment effectively Knowledge of infection prevention practices, including healthcare infection prevention and control expertise and aseptic technique Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration Ability to review documentation accurately, manage electronic health records (EHR), and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly contribute to healthier smiles!
