Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, enthusiastic Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing pediatric dental team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures Perform expanded functions as permitted by Indiana certification Take dental radiographs (Indiana Dental Radiographer License required) Prepare treatment rooms before procedures and ensure proper cleanup afterward Clean, sterilize, and organize instruments according to infection control protocols Help children and their families feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment Maintain accurate and thorough patient records Assist the dentist in a surgical setting Participate in treatment planning and patient education Order and maintain dental supplies and inventory Support the clinical team in maintaining an efficient daily schedule Qualifications Required: Current Indiana Dental Radiographer License Indiana Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification Excellent communication and organizational skills Positive attitude and ability to work well with children and families A strong commitment to teamwork and supporting fellow team members Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining excellent attendance Ability to work effectively as part of a team Preferred (but not required): Previous dental assisting experience Coronal Polishing Certification Fluoride Application Certification Why Join Steinmetz Pediatric Dentistry?
