Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will be proficient in various dental procedures and technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic while delivering high-quality service to our patients. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients. Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments. Manage patient records and medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and patient management. Perform X-ray imaging and other medical imaging tasks as required. Take vital signs and maintain accurate medical records for each patient visit. Prepare treatment rooms by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, demonstrating patience and understanding with younger patients. Support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks when needed. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices is essential. Experience with 3D scanners and medical coding is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental environment. or pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not mandatory.
