Dental Hygienist - Hislop & Lepak Family Dentistry - Commerce, MI

We are looking for a hygienist to fill in the role of our retiring hygienist. We have 1 to 4 days available. A position to fill an important role in our family dental office. Pay is based on experience. We are a private practice that is committed to providing the best care to our patients. Kindness and care are king! We promote patient education and high standard of dental care. We updated our equipment, we have digital xrays, a new PAN. We believe in compassion and mutual respect and are a no drama office. Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients: homecare instructions & demonstration
Digital Radiographs.
Take active role in exams with the dentist.
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies

Skills

Experience as Dental Hygienist
Experience taking Accurate and Diagnostic Digital Radiographs
Proper tooth and Periodontal Charting
Dentrix software (we will train)
Intraoral Camera
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
