Our general/family dental private practice provides quality dental care in a comforting, friendly, and positive environment. Dr. Elizabeth Wolfe is highly skilled in all scope of dentistry but also has a focus integrating oral health with physical health by identifying and treating Sleep Apnea, TMJ disorders, and does occasional dental sedation. We are looking for a dental assistant to be part of our supportive and friendly team who is interested in growing with us as we expand our practice to focus more on Sleep Apnea and TMJ treatments. On-the-job training and continuing educational opportunities can be provided as needed.

The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills, who has the ability to multi-task in a reasonably paced office. We do not double-book, treating one patient at a time.

Dr. Wolfe is looking for someone who can work independently and who will step up and take ownership of the back office. We are a digital office utilizing intra-oral scanning, digital X-rays, cloud-based software (Curve Dental), dental laser treatments, Zoom whitening, and intra-oral cameras.

Responsibilities include assisting with dental procedures, sterilization, and interacting with patients to ensure they feel comfortable and informed about their treatment. You'll help take digital records for patients, perform dental charting with Curve dental software, and provide homecare and post-operative instructions to patients. This is a small office with one front-desk staff member so occasional phone support may be needed.

Schedule: full-time - Tues/Wed from 8:30 am-5:30 pm, Th 8:00 -5:00, Friday 8:00 am -1:30 pm, and 2 Saturdays a month 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. Competitive wage and benefits packages are available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures, obtain dental and medical history, provide patient education, and escort patients to and from treatment rooms.

Treatment Assistance:

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and support including setting up equipment, preparing materials and passing instruments.
  • Coronal polishing

Operatory Management:

  • Prepare and maintain the dental treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for procedures.

Charting and Documentation:

  • Manage patient records, lab cases, and facilitate communication with the front desk for scheduling and follow-up appointments.
  • Record patient information, procedures, and treatment plans in the patient's chart during the patient's visit.

Supply Management:

  • Order and maintain adequate supplies for the treatment room and dental office.

Radiography:

  • Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and state regulations.

Infection Control:

  • Follow strict infection control protocols, including proper sterilization of instruments and cleaning of equipment. clean operatories, maintain lab equipment.

Other Duties:

  • May assist with front office duties, scheduling appointments, answering phones, or other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Follow HIPPA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to streamline processes and enhance patient satisfaction.

Required:

  • Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with any dental software and electronic health records (EHR)
  • Ability to use different software programs or ability to learn new software easily.
  • Current certification in CPR and BLS

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting
  • Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
  • Computer/word processing skills
