Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Ventura, CA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service while managing the front desk operations of our dental practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various medical and dental software systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure timely service. Verify insurance information and handle insurance claims processing, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper documentation review. Assist with medical billing and collections, including handling inquiries related to account balances. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems Opendental Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette. Provide administrative support to the dental team by preparing care plans and assisting with patient intake processes. Ensure that the reception area is organized and welcoming for patients. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management is essential. Proficient in using EHR systems; experience with Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is a plus. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with 10-key typing is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
