Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall oral health of our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth using advanced techniques such as four-handed dentistry. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and dental assessments to evaluate patient health status. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring proper safety measures are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Review and update medical records accurately within EMR system Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, providing gentle care tailored to childrenâs needs. Maintain strict infection control and aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Collaborate with dentists during procedures, including chairside assisting and documentation review for accurate treatment records. Manage patient documentation using appropriate medical coding and terminology for billing and insurance purposes. Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience working in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics; familiarity with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Experience with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review is advantageous. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately. Ability to perform clinical duties such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting effectively. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols within a dental setting. Strong communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members effectively.
