Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Sunnyvale, CA
Shimizu Orthodontics is currently seeking an Orthodontic clinical assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our orthodontic practice. We are a well respected orthodontic office that has been serving patients throughout the entire Bay Area for over 30 years. RDA certification preferred but willing to consider an upbeat, personable, and friendly dental assistant on the path to getting their RDA certification. Experience with orthodontic terminology will help you exceed from the start but we are able to teach all of the skills to a motivated individual.
Our office treats patients with conventional braces and clear aligners. This is a full time position 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. It is a long-term position for a career oriented person who has a strong focus on excellence in communication and customer service. Pay: $30-35/hour depending on experience

Schedule:
Day shift
Monday - Thursday 7:20am-5pm

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make everyone feel like a welcomed guest to our office
- Greet patients and visitors, determine their status and needs
- Electronic charting using Dolphin Management and Imaging
- Archwire removal and replacement
- Clear aligner attachment bonding and progress monitoring
- Assist doctor during appliance placement
- Inform and update patients/parents on treatment progress
- Take orthodontic records (photographs, digital x-rays, and intraoral scans)
- Basic dental office sterilization
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Must love to work with people
- Excellent verbal and manual dexterity skills
- RDA and x-ray certification preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and quickly
- This is a long-term position for a career oriented person
